I was one of those who advocated that ONLY non-polluting industry and businesses be built and located on the west side of U.S. 1 for Palm Coast to to Mr. Norris while he was running for office. It is appalling that this council and the prior Mayor are so real-estate/developer/builder friendly that they are okay and open to pretty much ruining what makes Palm Coast so unique compared to Jacksonville, Daytona Beach, Orlando – it was built as a planned community for retirees from all over the world to live in peacefully. Those flyers went out to the Northeast, Russia and other newly-democratic countries back beginning in the 1970s through the 2000s. My mother even wrote down in her tiny phone book (with our France and German military residential addresses from the 1960s) Palm Coast (from the 1970s). Now you have invited corrupt, sub-standard builders and developers from GEORGIA (and outside Florida -who cares where they created their LLCs) – where I lived and saw their destructive actions and how they raped the lands they built on, cut down EVERY tree, and threw up sub-standard homes all around Atlanta and especially my developer-friendly, devastated former town. The city and county approved developers/builders to build a walmart, a Home Depot, etc., in one area zoned for that, then a few years later change zoning to allow them to build another one 4-5 miles down the road, which caused that original walmart to go under (along with the surrounding affected businesses and area. These developers and builders made their money, cut and ran, not caring about the fallout. There was no real planning involved (Planning board was filled with developers, builders and real-estate agents). I have talked to the new homeowners of those Palm Coast homes built on the west side of U.S. 1 and how badly their homes were built quality-wise, and they told me they regretted buying the home they were in and would never buy another of those homes. The strict Florida standards, and especially strict Palm Coast standards for building homes and KEEPING the beautiful oxygen-creating trees has been ruined, thrown out, buy allowing real-estate/developer/builder friendly leadership into the planning for Palm Coast and on the City Council (DeLorenzo- with 100s of real-estate/developer friends on his LinkdIn profile so we know who he really kowtows to, and it is NOT the taxpaying citizens of Palm Coast), Alfin (illegally annexed so much land for developer dollars), the non-voted in (installed) councilmember who was General of supplies in Iraq/Afghanistan, etc.) and always stirring trouble. The under-the-table money is flowing freely.
I have to shake my head at you republicans who voted for a President who acts much worse than Mayor Norris (big Trump supporter) and you are all OK with what HE is doing and saying to others, but when it hits you on the local level, well, suddenly thats not ok? – make up your minds. By voting for someone for President who acts worse, much, much worse, and then chastising and trying to remove another who emulates that same President whom you “admire” and love, the hypocrisy is disgusting. Your vote for the bully who is dismantling our national government, destroying our education system and justice system, our military system, our state department, etc. and has already cost us 275,000 jobs just in March, and is trying to find ways to steal the $ 2 trillion that is in the immensely successful Social Security Retirement Trust by destroying it from within, wanting to go to war with other countries to steal their land, and then do this to someone who follows those ways you are ok with, is shameful, but is what I have seen coming from the republican party since the 1980s! The Mayor was elected to shake up the developer friendly people in charge and that’s why he wants them gone. Maybe it’s time for a recall of those installed without voter approval.

So, all this turned into was an anti-Trump diatribe that has absolutely nothing to do with the out of control development of Palm Coast?
